Veneers are a kind of layers of material that are placed over your own teeth, they can consist of composite or porcelain. Veneers are often placed when your tooth is fractured, when you would like to whiten your tooth, or to close spaces between the teeth.

A composite veneer can be placed immediately during the treatment by a dentist. For a porcelain veneer you will have to make two appointments; one for making a special impression, after which it will be taken to a dental technologist. In a laboratory, the technologist will make you a custom-made porcelain veneer, which will be placed afterwards during the second treatment.

The difference between a composite or porcelain veneer can be mainly found in the material and the price. A porcelain veneer is characterized by quality, durability and hardness.
